What is a Sample Manifest

The sample manifest is a vital digital file that provides our scientists with the essential metadata required to process your project. It acts as the bridge between your physical samples and their specific geographic context, ensuring the data we deliver is accurate, auditable, and scientifically defensible. Without this information, it is impossible to transform biological signatures into the high integrity intelligence needed for your nature strategy.

To ensure a smooth transition from the field to the laboratory, we recommend your fieldwork team reviews the manifest before heading out to the site. This helps confirm that all necessary data points are captured at the source, preventing the risk of missing information that could delay your results. By capturing precise metadata, you ensure your results provide the proof of provenance required to access high value green supply chains and satisfy regulatory frameworks.

Essential data for every sample

For each sample collected, the following information must be recorded within the manifest.

    • Coordinates Latitude and longitude are required to map your findings on the Intelligence Platform.

    • Country and habitat This information helps our scientists use the correct regional reference libraries for identification.

    • Sample details Record the number of sub-samples combined and the volume of water filtered for aquatic kits.

    • Testing requirements Specify which tests need to be run on each sample to ensure they are processed according to your project goals.

Once completed, this file is emailed back to us so our laboratory can begin transforming your physical samples into verified biodiversity data
