Returning Your Samples

The return of your samples is a critical step in the  process. To protect the biological signatures you have collected and ensure they pass through international borders without delay, we provide a managed logistics service. By following these professional shipping protocols, you safeguard the scientific integrity of your data and ensure your results are delivered with pace and clarity.

The pickup process

When your field survey is complete, our specialized logistics team takes over the complex task of international transport.

  • Finalize your documentation Ensure your sample manifest is fully completed as this file is essential for our laboratory to begin work.

  • Secure necessary permits If you are returning samples from an international location, you must ensure that all required paperwork such as export permits is in place before the collection is scheduled.
  • Request your collection Once your samples are packed and your documentation is ready, use our online booking system to notify our logistics team.

  • Wait for coordination Our team will arrange the most efficient courier route and provide you with the necessary shipping labels and customs documentation.

Why you should not ship independently

Shipping biological material across borders involves complex regulatory and customs requirements. We manage this process to ensure your samples are not held at customs or handled incorrectly. Using our managed service is the most reliable way to maintain the chain of custody and ensure your samples arrive at our state of the art laboratories in optimal condition for sequencing.

Safe storage before transport

The quality of your final data on the Intelligence Platform depends on how the samples are stored before they reach us.

  • Short term storage For samples being collected within two weeks of field work, keep them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

  • Long term storage If your samples will be stored for more than two weeks before pickup, they must be frozen. This prevents the DNA from degrading and ensures your results remain a verified reflection of your site.
