Sustainable Kit Recycling
Giving sampling waste a second life.
We care deeply about the planet and aim for every component of our sampling kits to be recycled rather than sent to a landfill. Our goal is to ensure that the tools used to measure nature do not end up harming it. To support this, we offer a dedicated recycling pathway through our partnership with MyGroup, a leader in closed-loop waste processing.
Transforming waste into resources
Everything you return to us is given a new life. Through our specialized recycling process, kit waste is transformed into high-quality plastic boards. These durable boards are incredibly versatile and are used to manufacture an array of functional items, including weather-resistant furniture, exhibition displays, and even full shop fittings. This circular approach ensures that your environmental monitoring project leaves the smallest possible footprint.
How to recycle with NatureMetrics
We accept all plastic waste from our sampling kits. To ensure your materials are eligible for our recycling program, please follow these simple steps before packaging them for return.
-
Rinse thoroughly Clean all plastic components with fresh water to remove any soil, sediment, or organic residue.
-
Dry fully Ensure every piece is completely dry before packing. We cannot process soiled, wet, or dirty plastic as it contaminates the recycling stream.
-
Ship with your samples Once cleaned and dried, you can simply include the waste in your return shipment to our laboratory.
Local recycling options
If you prefer to manage your waste locally to reduce shipping bulk, we provide a full technical breakdown of the plastic types used in our kits. This information helps your local recycling facility process the materials correctly. Whether you use our closed-loop system or a local provider, choosing to recycle your kit waste is an important part of a responsible nature strategy.
Closing the loop on biodiversity monitoring
By participating in this program, you turn operational waste into a sustainable resource. This commitment to a circular economy reflects the high environmental standards we maintain across our entire intelligence system, ensuring that your work to protect the natural world is supported by sustainable practices every step of the way.
